about

A song about my dad. I loved him so much. He was my number 1 fan. I wrote this song 8 months after he passed, while attending a summer camp with Toronto Songwriting School. I recorded early in 2023 with Jim Bryson/Fixed Hinge Studio.

lyrics

Number 1 Fan

When I was small you were the one I looked up to
So tall and in control
Little did I know, you struggled for us
You were my universe

CHORUS
you were my number one fan
Always in the front row
Always there for me
Like a star in the sky

You always worried though I was all grown up
An adult of 23
Then I moved back home
to be there for you and mom
I was your universe

CHORUS

In the last year with no where to go
I’d sing for you, you’d sing along
when work hard you’d look after me
we were each other‘s universe

BRIDGE
Now the stars and the moon that light up the sky
Brighten up my nights
And the stars that surrounded us comfort me through
We’ll meet again, we’ll meet again
We’ll meet again, we’ll meet again

Chorus
